Head Instructor

Head Instructor – Dominic Puntoriero

With his vast knowledge and almost 20 years of teaching experience Master Dominic is the owner and Head Instructor of D3 Marital Arts in Palm Harbor, FL.  A child of the 80’s, he was fascinated by The Karate Kid and instantly started mimicking what he saw on the screen. Dominic began studying martial arts at age 7 in ITF Tae Kwon Do under the instruction of Master Wassim Khechen in Buffalo, NY.  He began competing almost immediately in the Eastern United States tournament circuit winning several titles over the following years. Master Dominic obtained his black belt at 10 and by the time he was 12 he was featured in Black Belt Magazine for being the youngest competitor to compete for grand championship in the 18+ division. Dominic went on to obtain his 2nd degree under Master Khechen before taking a hiatus from his daily training for college.

While obtaining a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in History and Forensic Science Master Dominic dabbled in varying martial arts obtaining rank in these styles and delving into the history of all the varying arts he had been fascinated by growing up. Immediately following college, Master Dominic relocated to Clearwater, FL where he fell in love with the warm winters and rekindled his love for training through the art of Hapkido. Over the last 10 years Master Dominic has obtained his 4th Dan in Hapkido under GrandMaster Yaro Havelka (Grandmaster David Wheaton) in addition to a 1st Dan in Phillipino Warrior Arts with Grandmaster Yaro.

In 2014 Master Dominic started training in sport karate to compete on the professional circuit that drew him into the arts so many years prior. Studying under Sensei Jarrett Leiker with Amerikick National Team, going on to win silver medals in three divisions with the WKA World Team in Italy October of 2016. In 2017 Master Dominic was asked to join the Amerikick National Team and continues to travel the country competing in tournaments.  Accomplishing his hardest feat to date in July 2018,Dominic tested for his 4th Dan black belt in Senshu Do Ryu under GrandMaster Bob Leiker of Overland Park, Kansas.
